This is really going back in time: 46 Basic, Wellesbourne Mountford 1962. Still in touch with Dave Hart, Dave Coaker and Brian Richards (who’s not in the photo). We passed out in January 1963, a terrible winter you oldies will remember. Dave Hart transferred to the Army and ended up as an RE regimental sergeant major, Brian Richards lives in Perth and worked for National Geographic, Dave Coaker lives in Plymton, Plymouth and in his 80s now. I last heard of Terry Burgon living in Portugal. I know Shiela married a Cpl photog, John somebody on 16 Sqn at Laarbruch, but I don’t know what happened to rest of the course. Mike Speake
In this photograph, Lt S.C. Thynne RFC demonstrates the use of a hand-held camera for photographic reconnaissance in the back seat of a Nieuport aircraft. Lieutenant-Colonel J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon designed the first effective aerial camera in 1915.
