Joe passed away on the 9th December 2012 aged 95 years. The last 6 months of his life had been very difficult but despite all his worldly travels, he died in his own bed just 300 yards from where he was born. Some kind of record I would say!
The funeral was at South Essex Crematorium in Upminster on
Thursday 27th December at 11.40 am.
He was a much loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather and colleague of many Royal Air Force personnel.
Joe became an RAF Photographer in the early 1930’s, passing through the School of Photography at Farnborough and was one of the early pioneers in modern photo reconnaissance, at a time when Sidney Cotton was coming to prominence.
