In 2015, Dave Humphrey launched an appeal for contributions to an RAF Photographers memorial paving stone to be included in the National Memorial Arboretum’s “Heroes Square” project.  Within three months, the fund exceeded the target of £3,000 with donations from serving, ex-serving and family members and book sales.

  1. Message for Dave Humphrey. From Graham Brown – OC JSOP 1982 to 1985.

    Hi Dave,
Just found your website by accident. Unfortunately I did not see this when it came out in 2015.

    Hope you are all well.

    Best wishes,

    1. Hi Graham,

It is with deep sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of Dave Humphrey on the 31st August 2016. Added to that, on the day of Dave’s funeral, his partner, Carole also passed.

Dave was working on the Dedication Service to be held in November 2016, so he didn’t actuallly see the Memorial Paviour insitu.

As you may have read from the Website there will be a Dedication Service of the RAF Photographers Memorial Paviour at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire at 11.oo on the 31st of August 2017, this being the first anniversary of Dave’s passing.

If you are able to attend please do.

      Kind regards

      Kris Mercer
      Former Royal Air Force Photographer
