Royal Air Force Photographers Paving Stone Dedication

The paving stone has now been laid in Heroes Square at The National Memorial Arboretum, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire DE13 7AR

It was Dave Humphrey’s dream to see this and he worked tirelessly to make it happen. Sadly, he died before seeing the stone in all it’s glory, in position.

The Dedication Service was held at 11.20 hours on Thursday 31 August 2017.

11.20 – Opening Address Chris Mercer.

11:25 – Dedication service by Padre Andi Chapman, Station Chaplain (CofE)) with a 1 minute silence.

11:50 – 13:00 Refreshments served in the Founders’ Room with 2 closing adresses Mal Price treasurer of  The RAF Photographers Memorial Stone Fund and Chris Mercer.

Present and past RAF Photographers and their families and friends were in attendance.

The National Memorial Arboretum in the West midlands is the home for a commerorative stone to remember RAF Photography and one of its strongest advocates and teachers, Mr Dave Humphrey who past away last year. Many Military Photographers turned out for the event including students and serving military photographers.
